Hobby King AXN Floater Jet Adjustable Motor Mount

This two piece mount is CNC machined from billet aluminum.  It is designed to adapt a large range of brushless outrunner motors to the Hobby King AXN Floater Jet aka Clouds Fly.   It will allow for three different motor mounting heights to accommodate propeller sizes ranging from 6" to 8".

With this feature you can easily run a lower KV motor with a larger propeller for more thrust and better efficiency.  This would be a perfect combination for FPV pilots looking for longer flight times and a more quiet platform.   Or use a higher KV motor with a larger prop for those high speed runs!  

The base plate will also allow for the stock motor to directly bolt on.  This eliminates the problems with the stock plastic mount and nuts that continuously come loose.  

Swapping motors can easily be done by removing a few screws. This is ideal for those looking to achieve the best performance possible.

Position 1: stock height up to a 6" prop.
Position 2: (+) 0.45" for up to a 7" prop.
Position 3: (+) 0.9" for up to an 8" prop.

Installation:

1. Remove stock plastic mount and any left over glue leaving a smooth surface.
   • It is normal for some small pieces of foam to come off with the glue.  These will be filled in with the new glue.
      
2. Glue oval motor base plate onto the fuselage (nacelle) using a good 5min. epoxy or similar.
   • It is recommended to screw on the motor plate to the base plate at the stock height location before gluing.  This will ensure the base plate is oriented correctly.
   • Center hole on base plate is slightly off center to accommodate stock motor position.  Make sure this center hole is closer to the top of the nacelle.
      
3. Once glue has dried, remove motor plate and attach new motor to motor plate with supplied flat head screws.  Or attach stock motor directly to base with supplied pan head screws
    
4. Attach motor plate to base plate at desired height with supplied pan head screws.
    

Included: 1 - AXN Base Plate and AXN Motor Plate, (4) M3x6 flat head screws, (2) M3x6 pan head screws, (4) M2x4 pan head screws.

Notes:

It is recommended to slightly enlarge the motor wire channel using a 3/8" round dowel.  This will allow for enough room to easily slide wires through the channel.

You can also cut the top portion of the stock plastic mount and re-glue this into place filling the small void on top of the nacelle.

If a change in thrust angle is desired, simply add a small washer between the motor and motor plate at the appropriate locations.

Center of Gravity should always be checked and adjusted per the user manual after installation of a new motor.
